About Gildredge Park Bowls Club
Gildredge Park Men's Bowling
Club was founded in 1920 and nine years later the Ladies Bowling Club was
established, so in 2004 the Ladies Club celebrated their Seventy-fifth
Anniversary.
We are affiliated to the E.B.A., Sussex County Bowling
Association, English Women's Bowling Association, and Sussex County Women's
Bowling Association.
There are currently around 80 Men and 80 Lady
Members, who regularly play together in Mixed Matches, as well as separate
Men's and Ladies Matches.
We open at the end of April each
year on our outdoor lawn Greens, which are situated in the attractive setting
of Gildredge Park. Our Season closes at the end of September.
During the
July Eastbourne Bowls Open Week, our Greens are busy, and the Club House
kitchen is a hive of industry with the extra catering.
We have a spacious, centrally heated Club House, complete with a fully
licenced Bar, and active all year round social activities include Race Night, a
Christmas Carols Evening, weekly Duplicate Bridge Sessions, Theatre visits
etc.
We welcome
experienced Bowlers also Beginners who may have free lessons with our Men's
Coach or Ladies' Coach, both being available through-out the Season.
Gildredge Park
Bowling Club is pleased to welcome visiting Teams. Our greens are to be found
in a large Park, to the north of the main Railway Station, in The Goffs, where
we offer following facilities:
- Twelve outdoor
rinks
- Mixed, Mens or
Ladies Matches
- Fully licensed bar
in spacious Clubhouse
- Parking
available
- Rink-side seating
for non-bowlers
- Walking distance to
the Town and Sea Front
